To Abandon A Pet

Not many can understand,
The horrors of what I can see,
Almost right in front of me.

I can proudly say today that it just isn't right,
To leave a friend,
In this horrible place,
Not too far away from home.

I could never say that I ever trusted you,
The way you look at me,
Day and night,
But, strange enough,
I could never bare to let you go.

It's an odd feeling,
The feeling I have around you.
I could never say I dislike you,
Nor could I ever say I truly love you.
It's hard to love something that you can barely trust.

But, strange enough,
I could never bare to let you go.

You are my life,
And you will be with me,
Forever.
The way you look at me,
Day and night.
It's only right,
To call you mine,
And only mine,
Forever.

Those who go through those dark, unforgiving doors,
Will never know what they've lost until it's gone.
